The Beauty Editor Commandments

From Confessions of a Beauty Addict, we bring you The Beauty Editor Commandments:

  1. Never wash hair two days in a row.
  2. Always wear SPF 30 sunscreen, come rain or shine, winter or summer.
  3. Wash your face every night before bed... even when drunk... even when tired.
  4. French manicures are not an option.
  5. Everybody looks better with a hint of bronzer or self-tanner.
  6. Avoid frowning -- just like your mom said, your face will stick that way.
  7. Don't smoke -- it causes wrinkles, sallow, uneven skin, and yellow teeth (oh, yeah, and theat whole cancer thing, too).
  8. Introduce acids into your daily routine -- glycolic, salicylic, retinoic, whatever. Your skin will thank you.
  9. Antioxidants are your best friend. Eat them, drink them, wear them, live them.
  10. Smile. When you carry yourself beautiful, you are beautiful.

Sigh, I HATE washing my face every night. Bare Escentuals is "makeup so pure you can sleep in it", right??

I know... taking off make up before bed is one of those habits, for me, that lapses the minute I have too much on my plate, am tipsy, tired... The way I've gotten around leaving my make up on all the time is by keeping cleansing wipes near the bed and a bottle of oil and cotton swabs. I use the cleansing wipes to clean off the brunt of the maquillage and then massage my face with oil (to remove all dirt and makeup and moisturise. Asian women routinely cleanse with oil) and wipe it off gently with the cotton balls. Works wonders and I don't wake up feeling as if I've slept in a mask. xx
