Hello there.

It's nice to meet you.

I'm Jessica.

Once upon a time, I wrote a lot on this blog.

Now, not so much. But I don't have the b*lls to totally delete it from the internet just yet. So, here it remains, collecting dust.

So if you've ended up here, hello and welcome. I still tweet from time to time and pin (see above) and if you want to see what I do, click on the giant box below that says VIEW MY WORK.

TTFN, y'all.

Beautiful new books

It seems that if we see a book we want, we simply buy it online with a click and not a second thought. Being the difficult contrarian that I am, I try not to and know my library card number by heart.

That said, I'm an absolute sucker for cute, quirky or beautifully illustrated stuff. Because of that, I've bought two books since we've been in our new Mill Valley home, both within the last couple of weeks.

They're gorgeous. Both illustrated, but each very differently. Both are on topics close to my heart... dogs and wine (maybe even closer to my heart than cheese and good skincare, which is as close as you can get).

Highly recommended, both, for how lovely they are, although the scratch 'n' sniff stickers in The Essential Scratch & Sniff Guide To Becoming A Wine Expert could be a bit more realistic. We're no longer in the early stages of scratch 'n' sniff technology, surely. That said, if you've an appetite for amazing illustration, you'll love these. Gemma Correll in particular (the author and illustrator of A Dog's Life) is one of my favorite illustrators, so check out her other stuff too.
