You Smell soap

You Smell Soap

What a clever name. We got an email from a lovely brand the other day and thought, how cool. You Smell... well, no, you really don't but clever branding by this niche brand.

You Smell Soap

It's all-natural goat's milk and Shea Butter soap that's completely handmade and comes in just two lovely scents: Lemon Verbena and Lavender Mint. Both sound equally nice for boy and girl and lovely gifts. They're not available in the UK yet (sorry!) but retail for $8.50 a bar in the states... I'm going to buy them in the states and have a whirl in the shower.

Tatty Devine, pretty personal accoutrement

Tatty Devine magpie broach

Have we told you how much we love Tatty Devine yet? If not... we do. Alot. Their new batch of jewellery is fantastic. Magpies and Cockatiels and rose puzzle pieces and all sorts that we know our friend at Wee Birdy's going to love. It's a sort of updated take on old-fashioned floral broaches and a bit of a new take on dandy cufflinks.

The yellow rose ones might be hard to pull off in the board room but, hell, if you're man enough, you can pull off anything. And there are loads of us no longer in, ahem, the office with all this economic fallout going on. And it's not as if I don't regularly see men pairing pink and purple ties and shirts (NB: NOT in America, home of the pleat-front chino and blue button down the, now disgraced, banker uniform).

They even do muy cool collaborations with the likes of Gilbert and George and Rob Ryan. See more pretty pieces below:

I want a boudoir

vanity dressing tables
How fantastic would it be to have a lit dressing table? Put some ceremony back into the primping process instead of all this slap it on nonsense. A mate of mine has one and it is just brilliant. You can actually see what you're doing without straining over the bathroom sink to edge yourself nearer to the bathroom mirror or dangerously applying liner with one hand whilst holding a compact mirror towards the light in your bedroom window.

The Independent did a tidy little list of some very cool dressing tables. Whilst I don't care for a few, there are some into which I would love to pile the contents of my makeup bag.
