NY Fashion Week round up: Carolina Herrera

Hair slicked back, but gently so... natural make up and dewy skin as usual. There's a touch of coral as well in the cheeks and on the lips, although it's a deeper, more muted shade of it. Eyes have minimal make up. Just a touch of eyeshadow and one quick coat of mascara.

NY Fashion Week round up: Oscar de la Renta

Oscar de la Renta did cloudy, edwardian hair with dewy skin, subtly smokey eyes and natural lips. Very sweet. The hair looks a bit like the Luella S/S 09 show but the make up definitely doesn't. This is one of my favourite hair trends of the past year or so. Can be worn on regular non-runway folk if you just take a bit of the volume out. Oh, and the eye make up on the girls seems to match their hair colour a bit, no?

NY Fashion Week round up: 3.1 Philip Lim

3.1 Philip Lim's runways were peppered with bowl cuts from YSL circa 2008. Straight and flipped under all the way around. Bottom lashes were long and doll-like and skin was even and very porcelain. No blush, no bronzer. Lips were nude. Sorta reminds me of Liza pre-Studio56... Very 1970s, early 1980s. I definitely sense an '80s theme for A/W 'o8. I feel a bit of Dolly Parton from Nine to Five here... maybe a touch of Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie?
