NY Fashion Week round up: 3.1 Philip Lim

3.1 Philip Lim's runways were peppered with bowl cuts from YSL circa 2008. Straight and flipped under all the way around. Bottom lashes were long and doll-like and skin was even and very porcelain. No blush, no bronzer. Lips were nude. Sorta reminds me of Liza pre-Studio56... Very 1970s, early 1980s. I definitely sense an '80s theme for A/W 'o8. I feel a bit of Dolly Parton from Nine to Five here... maybe a touch of Dustin Hoffman in Tootsie?

NY Fashion Week round up: Marc Jacobs

For A/W 09, Marc Jacobs seems to have taken inspiration from Melanie Griffith a la Working Girl, Sigourni Weaver whilst possessed in Ghostbusters and Grace Jones. Gashes of blush, dark, heavily rimmed eyes, prominent eyebrows, big hair... We kinda like it. Very Lady Ga Ga. Very power suit, 1980s Wall Street (with maybe a teeny hint of Elizabeth Taylor's Cleopatra)... maybe this is the American expat's way of giving the down economy the double-fingered salute.

Delo

Selfridges has started stocking an interesting new product called Delo. They're little caps you screw onto the top of a water bottle (apparently only in French half litre size so start stocking up on Badoit). The caps release their herbal contents only as you drink. Each cap contains the equivalent of 6 sachets.

It's great too because you don't need to buy a new bottle of water each time you want to use one of these suckers. Just pop it back on after you refill the bottle. There are 5 flavours (de-stress, energy, sun, slim and sexy) each with a unique combo of herbs that correlate to the action you want to take (de-stress with Hawthorn and Orange Blossom or feel more energetic with Ginseng, Guarana and Acerola).

Delo launched at the Colette water bar in 2007 and is now available exclusively at Selfridges.
